1. What makes this recycled PET production system better than other systems?

Using the patented, proven Phoenix LNO™ c technology, PTI Recycling Systems is able to deliver an advanced food-grade rPET production system that is more compact, modular for easy installation and location, uses approximately 40% less energy and no water, delivers higher yields and takes only one person to operate. 

This allows businesses, governments and communities everywhere to cost effectively produce high quality, food-grade recyclables and meets PTI Recycling Systems’ objective of “consume, collect and convert locally."  By locating rPET production in closer proximity to resin users, you improve supply times and reduce the carbon footprint in order to improve the environment.

2. How high is the quality of the rPET produced?

LNO™ c technology produces rPET with superior color and yield as compared to other methods.  It has lower acetaldehyde levels which positively impact taste properties and its higher intrinsic viscosity (IV) or molecular weight more closely matches the IV found in virgin resins.  This enables higher package performance. 

The resulting rPET is ideally suited for a variety of food and beverage applications including water, carbonated soft drinks, juices, fruit, baked goods, meats and cheeses.  Package types include bottles, thermoformed containers and films, as well as drinking cups, vegetable oil and deli containers.

3. So it overcomes the common “stumbling blocks" in producing viable rPET?

Yes.  Color, yield and taste attributes have traditionally been obstacles in producing viable rPET—particularly with very sensitive liquids, such as water.  This has been one of the primary factors that have kept businesses and communities from entering the recycled PET production business.  Our patented Phoenix LNO™ c process overcomes those obstacles.

4.  Does it cost more to own this system?

Simply put, no.  Because of its small size, modular structure, energy savings, throughput volumes and low labor costs to operate, we estimate the total cost of ownership at approximately 40% less than traditional rPET systems.
